The Struggle Is Real

Do you remember seeing those pictures from moms about their kids crying over silly things? The "Reasons My Child cried Today" ones? I do. I remember laughing at them and thinking, oh man so glad MJ isn't like that. What an extremely well behaved Toddler I have.

He turns 3 next Month. I guess when you turn 3, or are about to, all rules go out the window. Everything changes. This isn't me being overly dramatic its true. I know you moms of 3 year olds are totally agreeing right now. Maybe throwing out an "Amen Sister".

I have one of those Toddlers. The ones that are the stars of those photos. In fact MJ could probably have his own website dedicated to "Reasons I cried Today". Emotions are just insane when you hit 3. I have read blog post and book on how to raise a little boy. How to let him know that having emotions is ok but teaching him how to handle them. Books cant prepare you for 3. Put down the books on how to raise a 3 year old. What you should be reading are those books that let you know that you are not alone.... that most 3 year olds are insane and all the moms are dealing with the exact same thing even if they look perfect on the outside. That will make you feel better about yourself. Not how to raise your child to be perfect, but how to embrace the imperfections of your own life as a mom.

Easier said then done I know. Because I struggle with it DAILY. I would love for my life and children to be perfect. But then I wake up from that dream and hear MJ dumping out a bin of about 100 trucks, throwing a fit because its Monday ( come on don't we all thought?), and Kenley crying because she doesnt want to do Tummy Time.

Ok back to what this post is really about.

Reasons MJ has cried this week:

Because its not Night time
Because the bed in his room is not his
Because mommy and daddys bed is not theirs
Because he wants to go to lunch and not eat at home
Because he wants to eat at home not out ( after we said ok we will eat out)
Because he doesn't like Books anymore ( until Tuesday when its story time at the library
Because he doesn't like PB and J when that is the only thing he actually eats
Because he doesn't want Kenley to get any older
Because its not currently snowing so he wants to wear his rain boots not snow boots even thought the ground is covered in snow...but the snow is not actually falling therefor he doesn't need snow boots
Because he wants his Birthday Party Invites to be just the truck not the truck with the picture of "Matthew" In them
Because he wants to do his own dishes
Because putting the dog bowls away is not his chore its mommies, his chore is cleaning the whole house ( by all means child please do)

Oh That Poor Mom, Thank Goodness That's Not Me!

I just have to laugh when I think about what I'm about to write..well maybe not laugh I think crying would be the better option. ..yep cry. When Mj was less then a year old I ran into an old friend at the BX (grocery store on a military base for my non military followers). She had a son who was about 2 or 3 at the time,  and was pregnant with her second. She told me that her son was so well behaved so they decided to try for another. She got pregnant and about half way through her son started falling into the terrible 2s sterotype. Sounds horrible right? Thinking it is the perfect time to have another because your absolutely amazingly well behaved toddler was just awesome so of course you should have another who will be just as awesome... then it happens and that awesome little boy of yours starts turning out to be not so well behaved and becoming, well a toddler boy. I felt bad for her . How horrible that seemed and I was so luck to have such a well behaved little man and decided not to have another.

A year passes and I have this awesome, well behaved almost two year old. How could we not try for another? So We did. And got pregnant and months passed and then 2 months prior to our newest addition joining us, BAM. ..my well behaved son turned into a 2.5 year old boy. A boy who is rough,  and tough,  and has an attitude,  and is always wanting to run and jump and scream and play play play and did I mention not eat his food or listen to us one tiny bit?  I bet this happened because I felt sorry for my friend and blessed  that I wasn't in my old friends shoes. That's probably exactly it.

So here we are with a rough and tough, not at all  well behaved as we thought,  almost 3 year old boy and an almost 4 month old total DIVA of a daughter. Sound fantastic right? RIGHT!

This week, no this month has been one for the books. Really it has. Mj, although a fantastic little man and so much fun to watch grow and shape into his own, is too smart for his own good...or my good...or anyone else's. He knows how to push our buttons, to argue and then negotiate better then a Harvard Law Student 2 weeks away from graduation, and to destroy every inch of the house in 5 minutes. My hair is falling out. Oh Wait That's From Having A baby...Or Is it? I have used the words "go to time out", "Santa is taking your gifts back", "your not getting a Monster Truck birthday party ", and "I'm throwing your toys away" more times then I can count this past month.  I'm threatening my son with things I swore I never would when I became a parent.  I now understand why our parents did it...they had to. We never listened. I have bought out the closest store when it comes to wine and chocolate and I look forward to bed time every single day.

I think the point of this post is that when another mom shares her lows with you, think that you are lucky that isn't you. Because most likely it will be in a few months or maybe a year.  Now she is probably laughing at me but she should be gearing up for the next big obstacle she will have to overcome, as a mom, next week. It's all a vicious cycle. A very very vicious one.

Im Back... I Feel Like This Has Been A Title Before

Holy cow has it really been 7 months since I last post?? Well that's what happens when..well , when life happens. I got pregnant with our second child and I had no energy to do anything but get my son fed and dressed ( sometimes) and make sure the house looked clean ( sort of). Then she came!! Miss Kenley Harper came into our lives September 10 at 11:59 PM just seconds before 9/11. Kind of crazy to think about. So getting use to the new life of being a mommy of TWO has kept me pretty busy. Not to mention my new Event Planning business!! Yay go me!

Anyways Im here and Im getting use to this new life and now actually find time on my hands for me! That is if I skip out on a shower, jkjk I shower ( most days). Little Man is back in school, has been for a few months ( funny how I decide to go back to blogging the week he has off for winter break) and Little Miss is just under FOUR months old and isn't as much of a handful as she use to be and my house is clean, for the most part, so here I am. Blogging...again... for now...

On the other hand I just sat and actually thought about my life and how its a crazy time to start up again. I have more on my hands then I ever have before. I just had a baby, MJ has hit his terrible 3s? Does that exist because this usually well behaved boy of mine is out of control most days, I took on head Key Spouses and started a squadron spouses group from scratch for Ms squadron, as well as making a monthly newsletter ( that's pretty awesome if I do say so myself), have my first BIG wedding that I am planning that is extremely time consuming, am helping with MOPS ( a tad), and MJs annual school fundraiser is just a few months away that I plan with a  Dear friend and fellow parent. So I start blogging now? That seems like a really silly thing to do. BUT Im going to. What's one more thing to add to my list, right? But I have so much going on that I can imagine you will just get a kick out of my daily struggles  (seriously like daily).

Or you will be able to relate and if that's the case, I feel really sorry for you. I also think you need to grab a bottle of wine and head to my house so we can cry together for an hour or so, or an entire day...yep that sounds about right.

Well Welcome back!

Ipsy Glam Bag Review: April

I am so excited my Ipsy Glam bag came in the mail today! It was the perfect day to get it. Im loving everything already!

Rainbow Honey Cosmetics' The Summer of 199X Polish in Lumine Hall

So excited to be trying this! I love every polish there is out there. My favorite thing to get in my Ipsy bags is Nail Polish! This is actually my first sample size 9 unless they compact sells them this small, I sure hope not) from ipsy when it comes to Polish. Lumine Hall is actually a really pretty color! Of course it has sparkles so its gonna be hard to take off.

Price: $10.00

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-on Eye Pencil in Black Velvet

Im in love!! This eye linr goes on soooo smooth! It also is staying on really really good!! I haven't found an eye liner that can make it through the end of my days! I think I may have found a new liner. Bottom liner that is!

Price: $20.00

Demeter Roll on Perfume Oil in Jasmine
Im usually picky about the perfumes I wear but so far Ipsy has done a good job! This one is a little strong for an every day use for me but I can for sure use a small dab before a night out!

Price: .29 oz roll on $10.00

Dr. Bandit Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant sample
Im pretty excited to try this but I wont until after the baby is born!

Price: $78.00 for a full size which is 2oz

Mary Kay's At Play Jelly Lip Gloss in Teddy Bare
I was pretty excited for this. I really like Mary Kay when I do actually order it. I mean come on its the stuff we grew up with, you know that your mom wore! So I have always been a fan. Also I was pretty excited I was finally getting another lip gloss instead of a lipstick. The color is ok. It goes on really nude and once actually on and spread out its almost clear. Shiny which I love but not too much of a color! What I love: That its a gloss, it doesn't have a weird texture, and it doesn't smell!! yay!

Price: $10.00

This is one of my favorite bags so far. Not the bag itself but the products for sure!!

Ipsy Glam Bag Sneak Peek: April

The Sneak peeks for Ipsy's Aprils Glam bag are in and I couldn't be more excited.  Seems to be a rocker theme?? This could be fun!

SNEAK PEEK #1: Bring out the velvet ropes and bust out your makeup melody for this awesome rock star product in your Glam Bag this month!
Clearly this is Urban Decay's 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil. How can you not be excited for Urban Decay! Also this is perfect timing I believe Im about to be out of eye liner... or maybe not but I can never have enough eye liner!

SNEAK PEEK #2: Life is a stage and your lips are at the center. Let one of these fabulous lip products take the lead!
In the far back looks Like Mary Kay At Play Jelly lip gloss. This one is fun. Its rare there are Mary Kay products in the Ipsy bags. then On the far left and right is Obviously Cailyn cosmetic lip Balms. I really am not excited for those. I barely have touched the last one I got. It is so dry and I hate the way it goes on and feels! Then looks like there is another Starlooks lip liner. Out of these, the lip gloss is what I would love. The others wont get much use from me!

SNEAK PEEK #3: Hey DJ! Your beauty routine deserves a fabulous remix and one of these awesome beauty finds will help you scratch that!
On the Left is City Color's White Gold Shadow and Highlighting Moose. Then the right there is Elizabeth Mott's Pop! Goes the Eyeshadow. And far in the back there is Rainbow Honey Cosmetics nail polish in Midnight Fountain which I would LOVE to try!

SNEAK PEEK #4: Tune up your beauty routine this music festival season with one of these amazing products!
The black bottle on the bottom looks like Dr. Brandt's Microdermabrasion Exfoliate. All the way to the right is Mattifying Primer By Cover FX. Although the cap looks different to me, its said that the top left is the lollitint delux sample from benefit which is a lip and cheek stain. Please no more cheek and lip stains! Last looks like the Gradual Tan Plus Firming 4 in 1.

SNEAK PEEK #5: One of these glam-rocking products is definitely going to get you to stand up and stand out from the festival crowd!
On the top left we Have Big Sexy Hair's Mini Root Pump! The bottom right is Costal Scents makeup brush. Top middle is the Looks So Natural Lashes by Kiss. Also the top right is the St Tropez Tanning Essentials  Gradual Tan Plus Anti Aging face lotion. The bottom middle is Demeter Fragrance Jasmine Roll on perfume. As for the bottom left, I seriously have no idea, and no one else has a clue. I can say that I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER SET OF LASHES! just saying :)

SNEAK PEEK #6: Put your records on and sing your favorite songs with all of this month's fabulous beauty rocking picks!

Ipsy Glam bag Review: March

yay its here!! I was getting a little worried because I had not received my tracking email yet ( which is wrong every time anyways), but it came after I checked my mail and already had my bag!!

This bag is awesome. I am always excited for them every month but this month I was extra excited. Although this is the first time I have received only 4 products, they were awesome ones so im ok with that.

So here is MY March Ipsy Glam bag!!

BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready
This was only a sample ( BOOOO). I was surprised. It was the first time I have gotten a lipstick SAMPLE in my ipsy bag. I was ok with this before receiving it because I have a ton of lipsticks and I prefer gloss BUT this is actually an awesome color and it looks more like a gloss on ( at first) then a lipstick! I really like it! Great for the spring!

Price for a full size: $18.00

Roughles by Nicole By OPI in On What Grounds

OBSESSED already!!! I was so excited for this if nothing else in my bag. We all know my obsession with Nail polish. A few days ago my polish started to chip. Now I change my color at least twice a week. With my obsession and having a toddler boy it has to happen often. I went without color on my nails ALL DAY today because I was waiting for this! So glad it came today. Its so pretty! You have to do a few coats to make sure it covers the nail but Im loving it. I know its gonna be a pain to get off because all textured polishes are, but sooo worth it! The color is fantastic! And it dries quick which is a plus! The only annoying thing is how thick the brush is. I cant remember if this is all OPI polishes or not.

Price: $7.00

Bora Bora Eyeshadow Quad By Be a bombshell Cosmetics

This is wonderful!! Such a good brand and product. Not colors I would choose for myself ( the teal and copper color) but they really do look great! This and the polish more then make up for only having 4 products!

Price: $16.00

Klorane Smoothing and Relaxing Patches
Im actually really excited to try these. I have to do more research on ingredients and probably wont try them until after I have the pregnancy though. Hopefully its a product I end up loving!

Price: $16.00

Love this bag like I said before!!! I also love what they are doing with the theme and bags.

UPDATE on a product from last month:
I recently found out that the POP Beauty lip gloss we received in our February bag is a dud. Women are having bad reactions to it such as swollen lip or hives. Not cool. Luckily I haven't been using it because Im not a  fan of the color. Im not sure what Ipsy is doing about it, if they plan to do anything at all.

An update email I got from ipsy after they read my post:
"As a result of a manufacturing mistake, the flavor/fragrance normally included in the gloss was accidentally left out of some batches. While the smell was off, we have assurance from POP that the product is safe. We're sincerely sorry that your first experience with this product was poor".

"We rely on our community to keep us informed. I'd also encourage you to reach out to POP Beauty customer service regarding your experience with this gloss".

"Both ipsy and POP are committed to providing only the best for our customers, and we’ll be working hard to avoid such mistakes in the future. "

"Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns -- I'd be happy to help. "

I have to say that that was awesome customer service by Ipsy!!! Makes me love them even more~~

Thankful Monday

Thankful Monday

That My father in law came and helped put in the new flooring in MJs bathroom this weekend!

That I am slowly starting to feel better from the horrible first tri symptoms of pregnancy

For the rain because it means its not cold enough to snow and we are one day closer to spring!

That we live in such an awesome little town who supports each other. Seeing all the simile faces in peoples windows and yard to support the elementary school principle that has cancer is sad but seeing how many people care is touching.

For MJs school. He has learned so much and he loves it there. I love the head master and both of his teachers!

Bump Date

Yay this again!!! hopefully I can stick with it since I haven't been great about blogging lately!

13 weeks with #2

Total weight gain/loss:I have no idea at this point. Im gonna say up 5 pounds which is crazy. I was on a medication that made me lose a lot of weight and I got off it right before getting pregnant so IDK where I really started lol

Maternity clothes: No maternity but I just wear leggings when I go out. My jeans quickly wouldn't go up over my butt this time around lol

Stretch marks? No and lets pray it stays that way

Sleep: Oh how I love my sleep. I go to sleep early and have to wake up twice to pee at least and if I cant fall back asleep I start to feel sick and it sucks.

Best moment this week: That the carpet in Mjs bathroom got removed and new flooring put in. 1 of 2 things that need to be done to this house before the baby comes!

Movement: Nope, nothing yet. I'm not expecting it for a while longer.

Food cravings: mhmmm food. Right now Im thinking about Mexican food. We tried this place not too far from the house and it was amazing! But my cravings change weekly

Gender: We do not know yet!

Symptoms: Everything is coming on early this time around. Bloating seems to be going down and actual baby bump coming. My sickness is gone for the most part but I do feel it sometimes at night so Im not gonna say its gone. Im uncomfortable... strange

Labor Signs: None.

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

What I miss: Wine

What I am looking forward to: Finding out what we are having.

Weekly Wisdom: Enjoy the time you have while being a mommy of just one. This is gonna be my advice for a  while because its really hitting me hard MJ wont be my only.

Instead of a bump picture ( I will post one sometimes) Im going to do Maternity fashion yay!!!

Thankful Monday

Thankful Monday

Im just gonna dedicate this entire Thankful Monday to M. I was put on bed rest Saturday morning when I started bleeding. Thankfully the baby looks good and they cant find a reason for the bleed but they wanted to be safe until I could talk with my OB.

Since Saturday Morning M has been a Saint! He did 3 loads of laundry, made all 3 meals each day for all 3 of us, kept the house picked up, put dishes away twice, all while taking care of me and dealing with MJ the entire time. He is amazing!!! That is all!

Endometriosis 31 Day Challange

You may or may not know that March is Endometriosis awareness month. So many people don't know about it or what endometriosis even is. If you read my blog you should because I have posted about it before.

I am going to participate in the endometriosis 31 day challange. During this challange I will answer questions provided to me by one of the endo awareness sights.

This post will contain 3 days worth since I'm a little late!

Day 1

For me, living with Endometriosis is:

Painful and a total learning process still. I never know when the pain is going to come, for how long, and how bad. It's different every single day.

Day 2

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in the year of:

2011 after M left for deployment to Iraq. I had pain and it gt worse and worse and eventually stopped going away. After countless test and ultrasounds I was pre diagnosed and sent to have a laproscopic surgery done where they stuck a camera in me. After my 4 hour surgery the doctor told me that I did in fact have endometriosis and scar tissue and it was everywhere.

Day 3

But I’ve had symptoms since:

2005 from what I can remember

    Influencer #JadoreVoxBox Review

I love getting boxes. Particularly ones I don't have to pay for wooo!! I was excited to see that I was getting the #JadoreVoxBox from Influencer! Here is what came in it and my review of the products!!

This is the one product I haven't tried yet. Im pregnant and need to do a little more research on whats in it before I try it out. Im really excited though because I want to find a new deep cleanser!

Hershey's Kisses Milk Chocolate $5.29 for a 18.5 oz bag
Do I even need to review this one?? Come on we all love it!

Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight Flat Iron Spray- $9.99
I was a little skeptical about this and if it really worked. I feel like I can never find something that works the way it says it does. Guess what? It does!!! I wake up and wash my hair. Spray a few pumps of this in it blow or air dry and then straighten it. The next day I don't need to fix it at all unless it was up in a pony tail. Its awesome! And cheap! It also doesn't make my hair feel nasty after it dries!

Kiss Looks So natural lashes: $3.99
Ok I lied. Here is another I haven't tried and wont. I don't do fake lashes. Im a mom. I have gotten so many in my Ipsy boxes that I have enough to go clubbing every night for a month! They do look more natural and easier to put on then others I have seen though!

Red Rose Simply Indulgent Teas: $4.49 for 20 tea bags

I got to share two things from my box with my husband this time!! Yep only two because the kisses were ALL mine!! We use to not be tea drinkers in this house, or coffee. he got sick recently and I had to give him some tea I had laying around. He tried these when we got them and really enjoys them!! Maybe we will be tea drinkers now!

    Vaseline Men Spray Lotion: $7.99
M isn't a lotion wearer. I tried to get him some Mens Cocoa butter and he uses it if he really really needs to. He actually liked this!! He said it was easy to put on, and seeps in tot he skin quickly and doesn't leave residue. maybe that's because his skin is so dry...maybe not :)

I loved this box!! If your interested in Influencer let me know and I can share more info with you~

For being able to be a stay at home mom. Being pregnant is really making me slow down and cherish the time I have left with just being us 3. So happy I get to be home with MJ to spend as much time with him as possible.

On another note, having the opportunity to be starting a job/business that I love!

    My Baby is 2!!!

To be writing this so soon is crazy to me. MJ is 2. I cant believe it. Was it really 2 years ago that I first held him in my arms? Moms always tell you how fast it goes but you just don't think about it until your sitting here at his 2nd Birthday Party and wondering where the time went. Its sad really. We are always saying how we cant wait until he eats solids. Cant wait until he says his first word. Cant wait until he walks. Cant wait. Cant wait. Then its all here, and they are growing up too fast and we want time to rewind or stand still. That's where Im at. I want time to stand still. This age is amazing. Its been amazing for a while now and it just gets better. He is so fun and perfect. I don't want him to grow up. I don't want him to need me  any less then he already does. Cant time just stop? Lets just have him be 2 forever. I will even take the new tantrums if it means he will stay young forever!

    A little about MJ

    * He is enrolled in a Montessori School 3 half days a week where he loves it and learns so much!
    * I know everyone says this but Im pretty sure he is the smartest 2 year old ever.
    * He is just under 3 ft. I can update on his weight when we have his apt next week but last we checked he was 30 pounds or just under.
    * He is sooo helpful around the house and listens so well. Its amazing.
    * He is a charmer and for sure a people pleaser. Everyone loves him and he loves that.
    * He Loves trucks, trains, books, playing ABCMouse.com.
    * Some of his favorite shows are PAW Patrol, Dora, Toy Story, Fox and the Hound, and  Baby Einstein's.
    * I would say his favorite thing is to go outside but the weather here has been horrible so who knows if he loves that anymore lol

    Here is my baby!
