Helping MJ Understand
When a deployment happens, or a long TDY, you worry about your kids. Of course you do they are your kids. What are they going to thing? Will they Understand? How will they act? What will it be like to be 'single' parent in the house? This all goes through your head over and over. Like all military spouses that face a deployment or TDY with kids, it went through mine and Ms. MJ is so young ,16 months, that he doesnt really understand why daddy has to leave or why he can only hear his voice over the phone or see him on the computer. He doesnt understand time, that it will only be 7 weeks. 7 weeks to insure he doesnt deploy for at least 4 years. I can tell him over and over again that M is coming home soon. At this age they dont even really get sad. He feels something, just doesnt know what.
I look at MJ and see how his attitude has changed since M left only 2 weeks ago. For the most part he is the same little boy. Happy and active, crazy active. But you can tell he knows something is missing. He has been pretty destructive lately. Not out of anger is seems, He doesnt get mad and throw things and break them, he just breaks them because. So far he has broken things off his Pirate water table he got for his birthday and a few other toys. He throws them constantly. Then of course there are the little tantrums he throws but those are pretty normal for him.
So what do you do at this age?? They dont understand! I feel bad getting angry at him because of the situation, but you have to. You cant just let him get away with the bad behavior or it might continue even after M gets home. So I have being disciplining him when he needs to be disciplined. It just has to be done. He is starting to get his toys taken away for sure. But on the other side I want to help him understand, or help him feel ok so this doesnt happen. I have read everything possible on deployments or TDYs with young children. People suggest all sorts of things but some I dont see working with us. So this is what we have been doing:
I gave him a picture of M to carry around. One I dont mind being beat up. He doesnt do it often but he does grab it throughout the day.
I constantly talk about M with him. So he knows that his daddy didnt leave us.
He has two bears, other then Simba. A Camo bear and a bear we call Daddy Bear that is a brown bear in ABUs. He has been wanting to sleep with Simba and the Camo bear every night. He also has been wanting Daddy bear more often lately. He will be in his crib and point to is and day "Daddy". So he gets those.
When he does break things, he gets his toys taken away and I calmly explain to him that its not ok.
When he throws tantrums I wait until he does and them love on him extra to make sure he knows that we love him.
And of course he gets to see daddy often on Skype which he loves.
He doesnt get it. I know this. But If I can do one little thing that might make him feel a little bit better, I will. M will be home in 5 weeks. It will fly by I know. And although he will only have been gone for 7 weeks, it will feel like a lifetime and we will be more then happy to have him home with us again.

Thankful Monday
Thankful Monday
That although we did not do any Birthday Festivities on Saturday, I as able to spend it with some great ladies and my little man and didnt have to be alone
For having a good friend who is able to watch MJ when I have a doctors appt
I guess just all around having that good friend!! She is pretty awesome.
That M is doing so well in Recruiting school and he actually likes it!
For sleep. Good sleep is underappriciated
It has been one long week. Just in the sense that the days are long and I am tired by 6pm. Yikes!!! But it was a good week. MJ was able to get to hang out with his BFF here 3 times last week! I know he is going to miss K so much, and I am gonna miss the whole family! They have for sure been our closest friends here. We have been through a lot together and Having them move across the world is gonna suck!!! But hopefully we will get to go visit!!
M is loving recruiting school which is awesome. I was worried. I knew he would be ok with it for 4 years but he would like to make it last the rest of his AF career which 12 years in one job is hard. But as of right now, he really likes it and he seems to be doing so good!! Time is going by slow one minute and fast the next so I dont know what to expect the next 5 weeks.Hopefully this week goes smoothly!

Ipsy Glam Bag: June
Finally!!! It Finally game!! My Ipsy Glam bag is here!! Only took forever. I have to admit their shipping is just awful. If I wasnt so in love with the beauty products I would be pretty upset.
Now before my review let me tell you that I already had another early sneak peek at the June bag. A girl that works with M has been getting ( and paying) for two by mistake. So she sold one to me. I was already loving the products from what I saw in my Glam room so I was more then happy to get two bags. So I have been playing with some of the stuff for a few days now. My bag isnt the exact same but pretty close.
First was the Cailyn Gel Eyeliner in Iron and one in Purple from the other bag. I am loving this eyeliner!Except the purple one of course, not my color and not sure if I will wear it other then to try it.! I never really wear eyeliner on the top unless we are going out and I have always used a liquid pen type. I started to hate it because it would flake off so I stopped wearing top eye liner all together. A friend of mine uses Gel so I was really wanting to try it so it was awesome that we got it in our bag this month!! This was a full size gel eye liner with build in brush! I tried the brush once but decided to go with my own to make the line thinner. I would have preferred the black but Iron ended up being great too!
Price: $21.00
Next in my bag I received the J.Cat Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette in Volta and mine was Suzie. This is something I wont really use. It actually says that it is not for the eyes. Well not sure where I would use it, but wasnt planning on using it for the eyes either. So Again This was really the only thing in my bag I was not excited about. But I know some ladies out there might love it. Its pretty colors but the sparkles are pretty big for makeup! M hates sparkles so this wont be opened in the house lol Again, full sized Palette .There were 2 different color Palettes that went out in the Glam Bags
Price: $4.49
Next in the bag was the Starlooks Lip Pencil in Tickle Me Pink. Although this did not come with a matching gloss or lipstick, which would make it ten times better, I still love it. I have been just lining the lips, blending it a little and then adding a pink gloss. Turns out nice! So I really do like this product!! Now Im just out to get a matching lipstick to go with! This was also full sized I do believe there were 3 different colors that went out in the Glam Bags
Price: $12.00
Next was the NYX Rouge Cream Blush. I have never tried a cream blush and was a little nervous but I think with a little practice it will turn out right. A little more messy then grabbing a brush with the powder blush but not a big deal. The color was really pretty and this blush was larger then any of my other blushes so that was really cool!! Now This was different for everyone. I believe there were different colors and a mix of powders and creams in all the Glam bags. In mine I got Rose Petal and the other bag was Tea Rose
Price: $6.00
Last in my bag was the Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil I have not used this product yet. I am very new to using highlighters and am still working on the one I got from Sephora in my birthday bag. But I am excited for this because it is something I wanted to try and possibly start using!
Price: $18.00
Now this next one wasnt actually in MY bag but it was in the one I bought from the friend, adn was different from what I had so I thought I would show it as well. It was the Jcat Beauty Eyelash and eyelash glue This is something that probably wont be used any time soon, if at all. Maybe for a photo shoot or if I ever have another wedding. But I dont need them. But It was cool to see something different in the bag. I know there are girls who subscribe who would love it.
Price: $3.99
Also in my bag, for referring two friends I got the O-Ring Stud Wrap. I wasnt too excited about this and was actually going to trade it but its kind of cute. Paird with some others it can be really nice!! I didnt find it on their actual site so the link is just to the site.
Price: Unsure, their bracelets were ranging from about $15-40
All in all, this bag was amazing. The bag itself was cute and I loved almost all of the products provided. I say this is well worth $10 and am excited to see what July has to offer!!
Total: $61 Not including the items that were from the friends bag or the Bracelet

Keeping Busy
I cant tell if this TDY is going fast or slow. I look at today and am like, ok yea thats awesome The week and a half went fast!! Then I look forward and go oh..yea 6 weeks left and feel like its so far away. You think I would have learned as a military spouse, that if your this far off from the END dont look forward!! lol
It did go by fast, this past week and a half. Im not sure why because I havent done much. I honestly though I was going to be so buys with all this PCS stuff that I would have no time to think about, well, the time. I do. I have been so on top of things that I have nothing left to do other then things that cant be done right now. Our TLF ( temp lodging) is booked, out TMO ( movers) are scheduled, our uhaul is booked, hotels for the entire trip to Ohio are booked, Matts car shipment company and date are booked, and our housing out processing meeting is booked. Do you know what I have left for June?? To schedule the pre inspection of our house, which will be done at the appointment Monday, and to continue looking for doctors, specifically for MJ, in Ohio since he will need his 18 month shots the week we get there. Which by the way it is extreamly frustrating being told what doctor to go to since your military and then all of a sudden thrown out into the wild and having to look for your own. Im at a loss of where to start! Thats it, thats all June has left.
July, all I have to do is hope that I found a doctor for him and schedule his doctor appt here ( so he can see Dr T one more time and say bye) and schedule one there for his actual 18 month appt. Call our internet and Tv and schedule a shut off date, simple, Forward mail, Get Kemba Fixed, and simple cleaning things like have the couch professionally cleaned before we sell it. Not things that are hard work and going to take up a lot of time really.
Keep busy, they say. I tell my spouses that constantly leading up to, and during deployments. Easier said then done!! There is only so much you can do to really keep busy during a deployment or TDY. Your going to have down time where you think about how long you have left to try and keep busy! I will have to keep that in mind when I am about to tell my 'young' spouses how to get through a deployment! Well here I am 'keeping busy' for 6 more weeks. WAIT 5 and 6 days or 41 days..bahahahhaah Just playing Im not like that

Citrus Lane Review: June
Well I have to say that this is my second box with Citrus Lane and I was not impressed. I really really wanted to love them. I dont know if its because my kid isnt the normal 16 month old or they just do not give good stuff. Right now it is not worth the money I pay for it. Hoping next month is better. If it isnt, it will be my last month!
But here it goes!
June Box Review
Sun Protection Hat from iPlay
This sun hat is made from UV-protective fabric thats rated 50 SPF+. Its wide brim provides all over coverage to prevent sun damage while the microfiber fabric helps keep kids cool. Mine was not this pattern, as you can see in the main picture. It is cute and it will be used while hanging out in the back yard but MJ wears baseball hats out, for the most part. Im pretty sure its just me that thinks this is silly just because its not our 'style'. We are all about the baseball caps in this house!
Price: $15.00
Sand Toy from Haba
This is made from a German toy company, not that Im complaining but I like USA products. It is made from PVC-Free plastic which is nice. It seems as though everyone got a different sand toy. I got one sand castle/bucket. MJ will love this but it would have been fun to get more then one sand toy. Guess it looks like we are out to buy more!
Price: $4.99 for the above, not sure of ours exactly
Happy Tot Plus from Happy Family
This is an all-organic fruit and veggie pouch that has added nutrition that helps toddlers grow. It includes choline for brain development and healthy eyes, and the gluten-free grain, salba, for nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, protein and calcium. Each one is free from gluten, soy, and dairy. MJ got one of the Blueberry, apple, and purple carrot. As you know from Mays Review, MJ loves pouches and it seems like this one is no different. Pretty cool flavor as well.
Price:$26.69 for a pack of 16
Sunny Sunscreen SPF35 from Episencial
This sunscreen is made for sensitive skin using minerals instead of harsh chemicals, it moisturizes while it protects. It is also Naturally water-resistance for up to 80 minutes. This is for all ages. I know I am always worried about what goes on MJs skin. I have stuck with a spray on sunscreen for a while now because it is easy and he is not a calm toddler. This one sounds like it is really good for the skin and body. Its smell is no different from any other sunscreen. We havent used it yet, but you will know if it doesnt work, I will be writing a mad blog lol
Price: $11.85
Total worth about : $34
This bag was less exciting then the last box which is disappointing but its still nice to be able to try some new products. It was a perfect theme for June though!

Military Discounts
I have always been one that hated asking if a place gives military discounts. I felt needy, like I deserved it. Then I would feel dumb if the store or restaurant told me no. Why?? Why do we feel like that? I mean Im not gonna toot my own horn ( or my husbands) but he is military, we are a military family. We sacrifice quite a bit. So what does it hurt to ask if a place offers a military discount. More then half of these locations I would have never guessed had one. So some advice, ask!! You wont ever know unless you do and I am all about saving a little money! Especially at my favorite places!

Thankful Monday
Thankful Monday
That the first week of M being gone went fairly smooth
That MJs head is healing well
That Im getting things done for the PCS and not stressing, so far
That God has his ways of making everything ok, even when we arent looking
That TLF is booked
As always, its Monday!! No its a good day. It has been a good week, considering M is gone. I had a few moments here and there I thought I was going to die but Im good now! Everything is good! This
This morning after MJs nap I have to go to TMO to finalize our date the movers come, and then to housing to set out pre inspectiona dn out processing inspection on the house. Not excited to go into that office, only because the head lady there is just nuts. Rude, mean, and she scares me. Has for 4 years lol. I dread going in there. She makes military spouses feel like they are so dumb and know nothing! I insure you Miss G, I am not dumb! Ok off that rant :) After those two things are done its home to rent the Uhaul since all of our dates are final. We booked TLF which I am thankful for because its PCS season and so busy. With my 3 dogs and child I have to have the nice, 2 bedroom one with Kitchen and room. Kind of like a 2 bedroom apartment. Its pretty nice. So Im pretty thankful we got that. Anyways, things are getting done! This week will be a good week!

Montessori School: Decided
Well let me start this post off by saying, Im still doing good since M left!!! woooo!!! Oh wait..Its only been 5 days? Ok well never mind then I dont have the right to say that just yet.
Now back to the reason for this post. Those of you who are close to us, or just facebook friends really, know that I have been looking for a place that MJ could go a few half days a week once we moved to our new location in August. Not a day care, he doesnt need a day care, but somewhere he can interact with other kids without me there and a place he can learn. When we were going to Medina Ohio it was simple. We had a friend there whos daughter is just three days older? younger? I can never remember. So she was interviewing places to take her so I trusted her instincts and would have most likely gone the same place. Then we got moved to Sandusky Ohio. Not a big deal, I just needed to step it up a little bit and do a lot of research on my own. I looked into regular day cares that also do preschool. I looked at religious preschools, and I looked at Montessori schools. Besides the Montessori school, they were either too far or just not right for MJ and what we wanted for him. I have always loved the idea of a Montessori school. My step mom has worked at one for years. I have always heard amazing things about it, but that was before I had a son so I wasnt really interested in knowing the exact details of it. So I asked around, friends of mine who have kids as well as read reviews on Montessori schools. It seemed wonderful. After that I had to research that specific school. It had nothing but good reviews. I contacted the school and after talking with her for about a week, we decided to have MJ attend that school in the Fall.
Now he is a little young for a preschool, that will be the following year, but they have whats called a young Toddler Program. This is for kids ages 12-24 months that are walking well ( well of course MJ). They meet two days a week for two hours. The program sounds amazing. I think it is a wonderful start for him. Not to mention I already contacted the parents group and am getting involved with them, which is nice. Its not a military spouses group, but this is how people not military related make friends right?? Sheesh Im new to this lol
Anyways MJ starts first Tuesday of September. The class actually starts in late August ending in May but we wont be there till August 23rd and I dont wanna ship him off the day we get there, Im already going to be a mess leaving him for the first month at least!! I want to make sure we tour the facility and have him meet his teacher. Im excited. Im nervous, but Im excited. I think he is going to learn so much and just love being there. Not as much as he loves being home with his mommy, but still.
So we sent off the hefty registration, application, and classroom fees along with our application. So its final!! I will keep you updated on how it goes!!

Another Day, Another Countdown
Story of my life right?? Or any military spouses life I guess. Is there ever a time were we DONT have a countdown? I have a few going on right now. Of course my most important one is the one until M gets home from his 7 week TDY. Without that, there is no other countdown really.
So M left yesterday morning, too early for me might I add. The airport let me and MJ walk to the gate with him and see him on the plane which is nice. Having to walk back through the entire airport with a hyper toddler while trying to hide the fact I was crying, not so nice. Im doing ok though, surprisingly. Now I say this now only because I still dont think it has really sunk in that he is gone for 7 weeks not just working 12s or something. I cleaned his empty bathroom, did the last load of laundry with his stuff in it, and cleaned up things that he used that I wont need. Its not too different around here yet. Still crazy as ever. Last night I didnt get any sleep. Was it because of MJ? Nope guess again. The dogs...how annoying!! I think LeBron thought M was coming home still so every noise he heard, he ran to the top of the stairs excited and very loudly. That happened a few times. Then another time all 3 decided they wanted to bark or go to the bathroom, or play. What is this?? M leaves and its Party at our house?? I dont think so. Maybe they do this all the time and I just dont notice it as much because Im not alone, jumping at every sound or annoyed and worried they will wake MJ up, oh no dont do that!! I am alone for 7 weeks! I need as much sleep as possible not an angry baby at 2am!
Other then the dogs, things are going smoothly. Its only day 2. Well day 1 technically. We still have plenty of time for it to go eyry. Hopefully it doesnt. I have too much to get done in these next two months. Yup I said it 2 MONTHS!! As of next Monday we will be leaving for Ohio in 2 months!! Yes!! Of course, thats another countdown of mine. Hey, that doesnt sound so bad though. If we are leaving in 2 months, M has to be home before we leave, 2 weeks to be exact, that means he will be home in less then 2 months. Say it that way and it seems easy enough.
So the point of this post, to tell you that Im doing fine. Ask me again next Wednesday and I might have a different answer for you. But for now, Im doing fine.

Thankful Monday
Thankful Monday
That we got to spend a relaxing LAST weekend with M before he leaves tomorrow
That things are still going well with the house buying process
That my Ipsy bag will be shipping this week ( its the little things!)
That we found someone to mow our lawn for cheap while M is away
To be MJs mommy. I dont say it enough, or maybe I do, but that boy is a blessing!
Well tomorrow is almost here, M leaves on a 7 week TDY. I know there are plenty of spouses out there who go through it all the time, TDYs or deployments but this is our first time since MJ was born. Its hard enough having your husband leave when its just you two, but to have him leave both of us... its a different kind of hard. Im sad. He may not think I am because Im trying to put on a brave face but Im sad. Im sad for my son. Although its only a TDY and he will get to skype and talk to his daddy everyday, his daddy is still gone and that makes me sad for him. Im sad for me too. Because I am going to miss him like crazy. Im also nervous. Nervous to be without him, and take care of our son, alone, for 7 weeks. I know I will be ok, and I KNOW MJ will be ok, but Im still sad.
Ok Ok its Thankful Monday, not sappy feel sorry for myself Monday. But I must run!! I need to spend every second I can get with that Man before he leaves wayyy too early in the morning.
Pray that I wont be too much of a mess after I get back to my car at the air port. I do need to drive that hour home!

Red Friday
Well as you know, I have posted about Red Friday before. For those of you who missed it here it is Red Friday.
Well this is my official Red Friday attire. I am in love with all of it!! I have to admit, I am horrible at wearing red of Fridays. I just dont really have anything red, its not a good color for me. So I bought the bracelet well actually I won it, half of it in a photo contest. I bought it especially for Red Fridays, but it sat in my jewelery box for a month. Until I finally got one of the 'famous' Ref Friday Shirts from @Deployment Problems on twitter!! She is amazing. She only pre makes them, sets a day and time a few days before the sale and they are gone within 5 minutes of them going on sale. I am so happy I got one this last round. I now have my Red Friday shirt. I will try not to wear it every Friday... no promises though :) just playing!!!
What is your Red Friday attire???

Ipsy: June Glam Bag Sneak Peek
Well the sneak Peeks of the IPSY glam bag for June are in!!! I must say that there are a lot of people complaing already. My view: Its $10!!! This is a fun way to try new makeup for free! I guarantee people have found makeup that they love that they never would have tried without IPSY. I guess to each their own, I wont complain!
Sneak Peek #1
Sneak Peek #4
I had no idea what these were, except maybe a highlighter pencil until someone posted a link. Ipsy really out did themselves with trying to make us 'guess' with their blurry pictures this month. I believe 1 or 2 of these are gel eyeliner from Cailyn. Those of you close to me know that I am extreamly exited for this because I wanted to try Gel eye liner!! Also the highlighter pencil would be nice too!! Im not quite sure what the red item is in this picture. We will find out in a week or so!!
Bonus
Sneak Peek #1
Your wild side deserves a little hint of color this summer!
Im thinking the two on top Are bronzers, which I am extreamly excited for. The red could either be cheek color or lip gloss, but Im leaning toward cheek color. Either way Im so excited. I never really wear bronzer but have been wanting to try one so I can start!! I have also never used cheek color so im curious to see how it is compared to regular blush!
Sneak Peek #2
Wild with vivid pencils perfect for your pout await this month.
Well this one is pretty obvious! Lip liner!!!! I am really hoping they send a lip stick to match it with but am excited either way!!
Sneak Peek #3
The sun won't be the only thing sparkling this summer!
I have read from the post that this is a type of eye liner. Others say its an eye shadow. One girl actually posted a link that it is indeed a glitter pallet. Not really my style but it could be fun to try. With just a small amount it could look really great for a night out!! For sure not for everyday use.
Sneak Peek #4
You are going to be wild about TWO of these products in your June Glam Bag!
I had no idea what these were, except maybe a highlighter pencil until someone posted a link. Ipsy really out did themselves with trying to make us 'guess' with their blurry pictures this month. Rawr
Ipsy also posted this picture. With all of the captions and this picture it seems like they will be doing a wild theme for June. This could be hinting the bag might be cheetah print?? So excited!!
Well there they are. The 4+1 Sneak Peeks for June!! I think I am even more excited for this bag then I was for the last. All of the items, if they are what I think they are, are ones I would love to have and would use often!!
Come back Near the end of the month to read the reviews on the products!!
Happy Birthday Month to me!!!!!

House Update!! FINALLY
Well as you have seen from the post below, we found a house ( enter screaming with excitement now)! Yep that is right after a stressful few weeks, needing to find the right house before M left for school when most people spend months looking for a house, we found one. Now during our struggle we found ones that we liked, but were too expensive. We found ones that were ok, but we didnt love them, we found extremely ugly houses, who would buy that! We thought about building, but too stressful.
Now that house that we picked was always on our list to go look at but it was in Huron not Sandusky. We were really wanting Sandsky so M had pretty much no commute. House after house we started noticing they were either extremely expensive, because its one of the top 5 places to live in the US, OR they were too old, a very touristy place.
We were picky, are picky. We wanted 3 bedrooms or more. We would have liked a basement. We wanted 2 full bathrooms or more. We wanted at least .30 acres of land and the house needed to be more then 1700Sq Ft. We also liked modern, the old houses were no cutting it for us. After looking at house after house ( poor mother in law) we noticed that Sandsky might not be for us. Upper Sandusky was 'ghetto' and we just weren't finding anything anywhere else. So we started to search else wear. My mother in law had 6 houses on her list to go see on the last day.
The First- Down town. Beautiful home but too close to the house next door.
The second- I dont even remember the second lol
The third-yea dont remember that one either
The Fourth- Horrible horrible horrible. We had hig hopes for that one. From the pictures it just needed some good pain..no far off.
The fifth- Not bad. Didnt love it but could be one we wouldnt mind living in
The sixth- As she walked around out front and back ( no fence) while waiting on the code to unlock the door I started to fall in love. It was beautiful. Everything I imagined living in one day. When they got inside it was the same thing. I was worried about a few things, the downstairs was all open ( didnt know if I would like things all together not separated by walls), there was no basement, and I needed to see the rooms. Well I just knew it was the house we needed to buy.
So here is the info and some pictures!!
3 bedrooms
2.5 bathrooms
1897 SqFt
1.30 Acres of land
4 car garage ( can fit 4, 2 each side length wise)
So huge garage
Shed the size of my living room now
Insulated dog house
She redid the whole bottom level. Took out walls to make it open and redid the kitchen and extended the living room.
It really is a beautiful home. It does not have a fence but my inlaws are putting one in before we get there for our birthday. Its expensive for that much land so we are very greatful.
The drive is 20 minutes straight HWY for M to work. It is also only 20 min from the surrounding larger cities so lots of places to go and things to do.
Here are a few pictures. I will take more of the inside when we get there and paint and decorate it how we like.

Thankful Monday
Thankful Monday
That we found a house that we love and were able to put an offer on it
That the seller accepted our Offer
That I was able to spend a nice relaxing and fun weekend with my boys before M leaves
That our friend, whose orders to Germany were cancelled, are now going to Germany again! I know its a huge thing of stress lifted off their shoulders!
That I have awesome inlaws, who offered to ship Ms car to Ohio, pay the $500 escrow money for the house AND put in a fence on our 1.3 acre yard that would cost us a fortune.
Truly feeling blessed these past few days.
I will be posting more about the house soon!! We are getting the Home Inspection done Friday and all the paperwork done hopefully today so I will be able to tell you more about it!! So excited to share with you all!
