Now I know this is just the beginning. It is only going to get worse from here, MJ is only going to get more rowdy, more energetic ( is that even possible), and become more of a dare devil. the thought of that scares me. My house is already total chaos. Amazing chaos, but chaos. Right now I hear in my house the sound of stomping feet and screaming as MJ sprints around the house torturing the dogs. This is where I have to carefully listen for a crash, then possibly a cry. It does not matter if the boy has been out playing all day, he will still find the energy to destroy my house before dinner.
I watch him at places like the park or drop in and play. As the girls are playing calmly he is chasing friends, screaming, climbing on things he shouldn't, and jumping off things that aren't safe. I had a mom tell her husband how small he was, and look at him going down the big slide. There is no stopping him, so I don't even try. Instead, I do my best to make sure his crazy actions are done as safely as possible. The day usually ends it cuts, bumps, and bruises. It isn't a normal day without one. sad right?
Last week at my brothers wedding we were setting up in the early morning. Leave it to my son to fall down two cement stairs face first just by standing there and reaching for something on the bottom step. It never fails, if there is a special event or anything that will have pictures being taken, my son shows up with his face looking like he got in a fight with a tree. He has scars (more then one) and he isn't even 2 yet!
I know you moms who having nothing but girls are probably shaking you head when you see his newest scab. Thinking I must not pay attention to him, If I did he wouldn't be hurt. Then I know you moms who have boys give me a smile or a nod and the look of, I know exactly how you feel, my son looked like that just last week. I know very few moms of boys who can disagree with this post. Maybe I don't know any. But this is my life. This is what its like to be a mom of a Boy. Its getting crazier and crazier in this house but I love it.
Im going to end this post by saying that now my son is jumping around the house and throwing himself on the floor on purpose and he thinks its funny. this is why M is on his way to the YMCA to sign MJ up for the only sport type thing available for his age, Tiny Tots Gymnastics. This has to be a safe way for him to jump around, get crazy, and get SOME of that energy out. They have lots of Mats right? He should be just fine.
